ATAKÖY MARINA YACHT CLUB DIVING COURCE

Bakırköy - Istanbul - Turkey

The diving courses presented by Ataköy Marina Yacht Club are open for anyone wishing to explore the beauties and indulge into the secrets of a completely different world - the underwater world.

Ataköy Marina Yacht Club, in assistance with the widely renowed World Underwater Federation "CMAS" and its local affiliated Turkish Underwater Sports, Rescue, Waterski and Fins Swimming Federation "SCSPF", provides the range of diving courses from entry-level scuba diving to 2 star Diver training.

CMAS is an international organisation founded by 15 member countries in 1959 and chaired by J.Y.Cousteau to promote SCUBA diving and other underwater sports. CMAS diving courses are presented by more than 184 nationwide members in over 100 countries on 5 continents. It goes without saying, CMAS certification is recognised worldwide.

The Turkish Underwater Sports, Rescue, Waterski and Fins Swimming Federation is the CMAS local affiliated member.
Nationally qualified diving instructors teaching CMAS sanctioned courses in Turkey are all members of CMAS – SCSPF.The 1 Star Diver course is for the beginners or uncertified divers and will provide you with all the required knowledge and skills necessary to make your diving safe and enjoyable. The course lasts for one month devoted to diving theory and pool sessions. The trainee must log at least 5 scuba dives in open water and have these verified by an instructor. The dives are to be of at least 15 minutes duration and to a depth not exceeding 18 metres.

Upon completion the student will be enabled to obtain the One Star Sport Diver Qualification.

For those wishing to expand and continue their diving knowledge and experience in the care of our instructors is the 2 Star Diver course. Its objective is to supply the relevant framework for the training of One Star divers enabling them to obtain the 2 Star Advanced Diver Certificate. The Two Star diver is a diver who has gained some open water diving experience and is considered ready to take part in dives partnered by a diver of at least the same or a higher grade (depth limit 30 metres). The Two Star diver does not have sufficient experience to lead One Star divers on open water dives.

The open water diving is to be carried out in the the most scenic islands of the Marmara region: Sivriada, Hayırsızada and Saroz Bay in the Aegean Sea.
Everyone who has the intention to take either course must be at least 15 years old.

Prior to participating in any practical training, the student must submit a medical certificate clearing the holder fit to participate in the sport of underwater diving.
